As a person familiar with the BlackBerry interface, but has little experience with a different chip / media phones (iPhone, Nokia E71, Nokia N97), I can safely say that this is the best phone I’ve ever dealt with, and certainly the tip Summit when it comes to BlackBerry devices.
I have updated the 9700 using a Curve 8310 and the form factor is almost the same. It is a pleasure, given the initial Bold was a little too big for my taste. In fact, it’s only a little bigger, thinner and a bit. It combines the best input devices: It has 3G like the Bold, a larger keyboard like the Tour, and a trackpad like the 8530 Curve. They are really all in a way that is perfect.
The keyboard is flexible and offers good feedback, but quieter than say, the keyboard’s Cuvre. The trackpad is a little practice, but once this phase more difficult question it works like a dream. No more dirty balls! It is not light, but it’s not really a big problem, like the call, send, menus, buttons and up to escape always burn when you use it while brushing your thumb dark space in the middle is all that is needed .
Excellent camera with autofocus and color balance very well. The speakers are loud and clear. The screen on this thing is absolutely beautiful. I do not think the extra resolution would be a big difference on a small screen, but it really was head and shoulders of models such as the curve. The Media Player supports many formats and video codecs, and that’s fantastic, I thought the previous models are missing in this section.
It comes with a standard headphone jack and an in-ear headphones that are really elegant and easy to use. I was also pleasantly surprised to a case that could clip to my belt (as opposed to the plug-in case they used to) and a 2GB micro SD card already in place.
Battery life is superb, I had heavy SMS / email alerts on my vibration, and music streaming via Pandora, and it takes a few days to fully discharge. Excellent.
The browser is faster than previous BlackBerry models, but it still works. It does not come close to the will of Mobile Safari. However, there are alternative browsers, you can make free use, such as Opera Mini.
SMS is a breeze, and keeps a log of the conversation like a cat in an instant messaging client. It also has visual voicemail, so if you move an iPhone, you still have the functionality. Get this phone, you will definitely not regret it.
